PREPARATORY MATH FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS
     



Description

The course seeks to review the basic mathematical concepts that incoming graduate students should be familiar with before taking the theory courses in the Fall. The course is mandatory for all incoming graduate students.

Format and Timetable

The course will spread over four days (September 9th, 10th, 13th and 14th, 2004) with 4 hours of instruction each day.

Thursday September 9th       9:30-12:00 and 2:00-4:00
Friday September 10th        10:00-12:00 and 2:00-4:00

Monday September 13th       9:00-11:00 and  1:30-3:30
Tuesday September 14th      9:00-11:00 and  1:30-3:30


ALL CLASSES WILL BE HELD IN KTH-334

Assessment

The assessment of the students will be entirely based on one exam to be written approximately one week after the course. The exact date and location are to be announced.

The result obtained on the exam will be used in the calculation of the total grade for the courses ECON 721 (Microeconomics I) and ECON 723 (Macroeconomics I). In each of these courses, the result on the math exam will bear a weight of 10%.
